Vandaag vieren we de vrijheid
Vandaag vieren we dat we sinds 5 mei 1945 bevrijd zijn. Wij vieren de vrijheid die we hier hebben in Nederland. De vrijheid waar we onbewust in leven en waar we vandaag bij stil staan. Normaal zijn er dan op verschillende plekken door het hele land bevrijdingsfestival en allerlei activiteiten om te doen. Dat kan op dit moment niet. Maar natuurlijk wil je wel stil staan bij de vrijheid waarin wij leven.
Je kunt wel online het vrijheidsvuur volgen en kijken naar de digitale bevrijdingsfestivals. Daarnaast kun je via de televisie kijken naar de 5 mei lezing en het 5 mei concert. Wij maken documentaires die vaak de strijd naar vrijheid vast leggen. Hier kun je alle informatie vinden over onze documentaires.
In onze documentaires staat de Tweede Wereldoorlog vaak centraal. Zo ook in de documentaire De tien van Renesse. In deze documentaire wordt het aangrijpende en gruwelijke verhaal vertelt van tien mannen. Deze mannen werden in december 1944 opgehangen door de Duitsers, omdat ze het bevolkingsregister moedwillig hebben laten verdwijnen en heulen met de vijand. Deze mannen streden voor onze vrijheid. Daar staan wij vandaag weer bij stil.
